Sole Mates Registration Process

We try to post our hikes well in advance so that you can plan which hikes you would like to join. Depending on the type of hike, the registration process may differ.

Normal Registration Process
Registration opens normally 2 weeks before the hike at 15:00
Registration closes normally 2 days before the hike at 23:00

  • Register on Meetup
  • Provide Contact Details in the dialog while registering if Sole Mates does not already have you contact details. Alternatively, you can contact a Sole Mates organiser directly with your contact details. Please Note: If Sole Mates does not have your contact details, you will be removed from the hike registration.
  • If anything changes and you are unable to attend, update your Meetup status.

Pre-Paid Hike Registration Process
Day Hikes
Registration opens normally 4 weeks before the hike at 15:00
Registration closes normally 4 days before the hike at 23:00
Overnight Hikes
Registration opens normally 8 weeks before the hike at 15:00
Registration closes normally 1 week before the hike at 23:00

  • Register on Meetup

  • Make payment within 24 Hours* Please see Banking Details below.
  • Provide POP to accounts@sole-mates.co.za*
  • If anything changes and you are unable to attend, update your Meetup status and contact one of the organisers.**

*If payment or POP is not received and no other arrangements have been made with an organiser within 24 hours, you will automatically be removed from the “Going” list without notice.

**Cancellations after the registration deadline is considered a “Late Cancellation”. Sole Mates takes “No Shows” seriously. For more on the Sole Mates Late Cancellation and No Show policy please see Late Cancellations – No Shows – Priority

Waiting Lists and Priority
If a hike is full before a registration deadline, place yourself on the waiting list. Meetup will record the date and time you registered on the waiting list and we will work through the list based on when participants registered.
On and after the registration deadline, should a spot come available, ACTIVE Sole Mates members will have priority.

If you have not shared your contact details with us, we will skip past you on the waiting list so please be sure that we have your WhatsApp contact details.
